Sunday School
children aged from Recption class to Year 6
S. Mary's Sunday school meets in the Vicarage (behind the church) during the first part of the parish Mass each week. The Children return to church half way through the Mass. They may sit together or return to sit with their parents/carers.

The Sunday School follows a syllabus (written by Fr. Miller and Jacqui) which covers the basics of Christian faith in Jesus; the Bible; what we do in church and why; how we should live our lives as followers of Jesus. This teaching takes place during the part of the Mass in which by hearing the Bible readings and listening to the sermon the adults learn the same things in a different way. Then we all come together to worship the Lord and come to His altar to receive Holy Communion or His Blessing. Sunday School also forms a background to some of the things which are learnt in Confirmation Classes.
"I like Sunday School because there's lots of interesting stuff to do."

To be able to understand and join in with the Sunday school activities, Children must be at least in Reception Class: nursery aged children cannot be taken in Sunday School and should stay in church with their carers.
We require that an adult with parental responsibility is available in church in case of an emergency.
The Sunday School works according to the parish Child Protection Policy, a copy of which is available from the Vicar on request or may be viewed by clicking here.
Children may be excluded from Sunday School with no reason being given at the discretion of the teachers, and with consultation with the Vicar.

The Kemble Club is our Sunday Lunch drop in club. Teams of volunteers prepare an serve a three course meal every Sunday of the year and Christmas Day. Anyone is welcome to attend the Club, nd we are always looking for volunteers to help to cook and serve the meals.

At the moment the Kemble Club is running in the church Vestry. we are looking forward to the opening of the new Hall with its proper kitchen which will enable us to cook meals on site.

The charge is £1-50. For this users receive a three course meal.

We have on average 12 people to lunch every week. The Club has not been promoted this year as with the limited cooking facilities and space this is about as many people as we can manage to accommodate.

Margaret Wood is the co-ordinator of the Kemble Club. She can be contacted be emailing or telephoning the Vicar.
